U.S. Army Suicides Decline



Army Suicides Decline For Second Consecutive Month -- Stars and Stripes

WASHINGTON – Sixteen active-duty soldiers and six reservists apparently took their own lives in September, the second month of decline in suicide numbers since a record high in July, according to Army figures released Friday.

Four of the September cases have been confirmed as suicide while 18 remain under investigation, the Pentagon said. Twenty-nine Army suicides were reported in August, down from 33 in July, the highest toll since the Army began releasing the figures in 2009.

Baby found abandoned in village pub

A newborn baby has been found abandoned in a village pub.

The baby boy, who is less than a day old, was found in a bag at 11.15pm on Wednesday at the Hawk and Buckle pub in Etwall, Derbyshire.

He was taken to Derby Royal Hospital where he was named Jack by staff. He is described as being in good health.

A spokeswoman for Derbyshire Constabulary said: "Police are urgently trying to trace the baby's mother as they are concerned for her welfare.

"Officers want to stress that anyone providing information can do so in confidence."

Huffington Post on Health Care

More good stuff on the health insurance racket's attempt to prevent even the first step towards its own demise can be found in some recent articles in the Huffington Post. I have my doubts about the emasculated reform legislation that is pending, and am still quite angry that our supposed liberal, alleged representatives in Congress have refused to fight hard for a single-payer system, but if the currently pending health care reform bill, with a true public option, ever sees the light of day, there would indeed be a sliver of hope that eventually we will all have the single-payer system we need, and the health insurance racket would thus end up every bit as dead as the many patients who are now its daily victims.

It is interesting that a majority of doctors support a public option. Majority Of Doctors Back Public Option: New England Journal Of Medicine Study. Makes sense. And to that I say: Why can't we just take it one step further with a single-payer plan. We can't we just pay our doctors for care? Why do we have to pay the health insurance mafia as well?

Prince Mahesh's latest film 'Dookudu', the much awaited and much expected film of the season is scheduled for release this weekend, i.e. the 23rd of September. "Raman Thediya Seethai" -- another wonderful creation from Cheran

Two weeks ago I had an opportunity to know about the film Raman Thediya Seethai through infact a really interesting source. I came to know of this title whilst preparing a script for a screenplay. Out of curiosity when I binged it, there turned out to be a movie on the same title.

A lot of things to learn from Cheran's creations -- his wonderful ways to capture real life situations as movies. Ranjitha's confession of her inability to judge him at first sight and expressing her love towards joining hands with him is really heart-moving one. At the same time, Gayatri's authoritative and tender moves in making a thief turn a good hard-worker and joining hands with him is another good shot.

The one thing I hated was Vidya's move for the way she ditched her family and everyone on the eve of her wedding and eloped with her paramour. Vidya -- the name is really bad for it shares another similar real life villain 'Pammal Vidya'. Perhaps V&R is a better person to eloborate on this topic. Check out here. Why can't this bitches spell out their mind before their marriage?

Payouts possible after search error

Thousands of people could be in line for compensation after they were illegally stopped and searched by police using controversial counter-terrorism legislation.

An urgent review is under way after officials discovered 14 police forces failed to get the correct authorisation for operations that allow them to stop members of the public without reason.

They found 40 operations dating back to 2001 where police who were granted powers to use section 44 of the Terrorism Act 2000 had no legal basis after they applied for an invalid timescale or were not countersigned quickly enough.

In Navsratri, a beautiful statue of Maa Ambe-Durga has been bring and then constituted with faith that Maa Durga will brings abundance and prosperity. People perform Aarti daily in the evening time. The "prasad" ,means "mercy" or the "divine grace of God" is offered then after the completion of Aarti, that divine food is offered to devotees.

Devotees perform the Ras Garba, Dandiya in both traditional and western style. Every people perform that very gracefully and gladden the viewers.

Many devotees prefer to keep a fast on Navratri-the nine holy nights. The all temples of Goddess Durga, Kali, Ambe, Shakti, Devi etc. are decorated beautifully and most of all people visit the temples. The Navratri festival and celebration performed enthusiastically mainly in the state of Gujarat. The performance of the Ras, Garba and dance is very great and it is seen rarely to elsewhere except Gujarat.

In West Bengal, Navratri is celebrated as "Durga Puja" and considered as most important festival that is celebrated with enthusiasm and gaiety.

Murder 2 is an upcoming Bollywood erotic thriller film and the sequel to the 2004 film Murder. The film stars Emraan Hashmi and Jacqueline Fernandez in the lead. It is directed by Mohit Suri and produced by Mukesh Bhatt. It is scheduled for release on July 8, 2011. The theatrical trailer of the film will be revealed with Ready.

Murder 2 has been inspired by legendary stories of such serial killers and other dark characters like psychopaths. It is rumoured to be inspired by films like Saw and Hostel.

Some of these stories have been myths while others are facts but Bhatts and director Mohit Suri have tried to incorporate those elements which are the most intriguing", informs a source, "You pick up any major city in India and it has it's own story to tell when it comes to such serial killings. Mumbai has its own share while Delhi too has it's own. Goa setting comes into picture here because it again has a history of serial killers.
