Herman Cain said he be comfortable running as VP with any of the GOP candidates... except Rick Perry.

And it's not because he thinks that word — that painted-on-a-rock name — might somehow get aimed at him:

Cain said his concerns about Perry include "being soft on the border, issues relative to tuition for children of illegal aliens." As governor, Perry supported legislation offering in-state college tuition for the children of illegal immigrants, which has become a flash point in the campaign. "And I haven't totally gone through all of his positions, but a lot of positions I have questions with," Cain said.

Bayern Munich have announced that defender Breno, who was arrested in connection with a fire at his home last month, has been released on bail.

The Brazilian was taken to hospital suffering from smoke inhalation when his home in Munich was destroyed by fire in the early hours of September 20.

He was later arrested on suspicion of deliberately starting the blaze.

Bayern released a statement this afternoon confirming the 21-year-old had been released from custody after his bail conditions were met.

The club announced: "After an application by his lawyer, Werner Leitner, Bayern Munich player Breno was released from further detention on Thursday, 6 October 2011 [...]

General manager Oliver Bierhoff has promised Germany will take their Euro 2012 qualifier against Turkey seriously.

Joachim Low's side have won eight out of eight qualifying matches and head to Istanbul tomorrow night with nothing at stake, other than the extension of that perfect record.

But Bierhoff insists Germany will be fully focused for the game, partly out of respect to the other teams behind Turkey who are looking to clinch a play-off place.
